We are happy to announce a 5 day macro and wide angle Bali Underwater Photo Workshop as an addition to our annual Lembeh Photo Funweek. The dates for this 5 day event will be 22-27 July 2017 and will take place in two of Bali’s best diving locations, Tulamben and Nusa Penida. This will be the perfect addition for folks who are joining us in Lembeh Strait and are looking to extend their time in Indonesia. However, this event will also act as a stand alone Photo Workshop in and of itself so everyone is welcome. With the two locations of Tulamben and Nusa Penida on the schedule, we will be working on both macro and wide angle underwater photo techniques.
Our Bali Underwater Photo Workshop is aimed at all photographers from beginners to experienced photographers looking to learn a few new tips and tricks. We start from the basics of f-stops and shutter speeds as well as strobe positioning. As we will be shooting both wide angle and macro, we will be discussing the best methods for each. Our team of instructors will be with the students every step of the way both on land as well as underwater. One of the benefits of an Underwater Tribe Photo Workshop is that the instructors do not take their cameras underwater. We believe a photo workshop is for our guests to improve their photography, not for the instructors to improve their portfolios.
The planned itinerary is as follows:
22 July – arrive in Bali and transfer to Tulamben, introduction night with the group and explanation of how the days will proceed.
23 July – 3 critter dives in the area
24 July – 3 critter dives in the area
25 July – 2 wide angle dives at the Liberty Wreck, check out from hotel and transfer to Sanur
26 July – 3 dives at Nusa Penida, manta rays and wide angle opportunities (depending on weather)
27 July – 2 dives at Nusa Penida. Diving finished, evening presentation and final slideshow, overnight in Sanur
28 July – transfer to airport or other area of Bali
If you are interested in this Bali Underwater Photo Workshop why not make it a combination trip with our NAD Lembeh Photo Fun Week as well!
As with any form of class or workshop, choosing the right instructors for an underwater photography workshop is very important! The key is having mentors/instructors who will work with you in a “hands on” manner both in the classroom as well as underwater. The hallmark of an Underwater Tribe Photo Fun Week is that none of the instructors are there to take photos underwater, they are there to help you improve your photographs! Therefore, instead of carrying a camera all of the Underwater Tribe mentors carry slates underwater and help the students on every dive with shot selection, strobe positioning, settings, and also help guide them into interesting new ideas for shooting subjects in a different way.
