Discussing Limited Depth of Field: Our Latest Photo Tutorial

We are active again on the photo tutorial side of things.  It has been a while since we have posted a tutorial, apologies for that!  In our latest tutorial we discuss a little more in depth about Limited Depth of Field or Bokeh photography. This short article shows examples and gives insight into a popular form of macro photography.

Shallow Depth of Field

Here is a brief quote from the article:

“Choosing the right f-stop can really make or break the shot. In macro photography, one of the most important elements of composition is creating separation between subject and background. There are many ways to do so, however, for this article we will focus on depth of field. In future articles we will discuss other techniques to create separation.”

We will continued to post short articles discussing other techniques to separate the subject from the background shortly.  Due to the popularity of macro photography we often teach popular techniques in Bali. Please be sure to stay tuned for these upcoming tutorials soon. If you have not already done so, why not check out some of the other short articles on our page? Many of these are very short with quick tips and tricks to improve your photography.  You can bookmark our underwater photo tutorials page HERE.

Are you interested in learning a little bit more in person? We teach a lot of great techniques on our annual NAD Photo Workshop.  This year we will be running our 8th Annual Workshop, why not join us?  We always have 3 instructors on hand who are there to help everyone gain the most from their time at NAD Lembeh.

If the July/August timeframe of our Lembeh Workshop doesn’t suit your needs, please join us in Bali!  We offer “one to one” underwater photo instruction all year long from our base in Bali.
