One of the worst nightmares a person can have is having a parasite take over your tongue! Although this sounds like something from a dream, it is all too real in the ocean. Lice and other parasites are very common lifeforms in every ocean, including around coral reefs. One of the most disturbing looking examples has to be the Tongue Louse that takes over the mouth of anemonefish. This disturbing looking combination seems to be very common in muck diving areas such as the Lembeh Strait. Have you ever spotted one of these “aliens”?
