We are happy to announce our 8th Annual Lembeh Photo Workshop 2022! Our 7 night/17 dive Photo Workshop will take place from 23 – 30 July 2022. Once again we are happy to welcome Adobe guru Doug Sloss as part of the instruction team. Our hosts for the event is the wonderful NAD Lembeh Resort with their amazing team. The 7 night/17 dive package includes all meals, nitrox (air available), return airport transfers (surcharge for non peak hours), 2:1 guest to guide ratio, inwater tuition, and digital copies of outlines.
We limit the number of participants during workshops in order to give plenty of one to one time to everyone. One of the highlights of an Underwater Tribe workshop is that the instructors don’t take cameras underwater. Each photo instructor accompanies the students underwater each day with a slate in hand. One to one time underwater is often touted as the highlight of the workshop by past participants.
Our workshops are aimed at new underwater photographers as well as more experienced photographers. We always start with the basics to get everyone on the same page before introducing other techniques. Our workshops are relaxed and friendly with a very social atmosphere. We don’t include competitions or public photo critiquing so there is no pressure on our guests.
The schedule typically runs as follows:
Saturday – arrival and introduction night
Sunday through Thursday – 2 morning dives, lectures after lunch, dive 3, open classroom and post processing, dinner or night dive
Friday- 2 morning dives, lunch, afternoon final prepping of images for slidesow, BBQ dinner and farewell
Saturday – departure
Topics include: “Basic Macro Setup”, “Creative Lighting”, “Lightroom Workflow”, “Lightroom Processing”, “Tips for Blackwater Photography”, and many more!
Our workshops are for everyone! Each year we have a mix of brand new photographers and people who have been shooting for years. With three coaches on hand, we are able to customize the learning experience for everyone. We work individually with each participant underwater in order to master new skills. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the week is full of laughter and new friends. We have many repeat guests who return year after year to join us in Lembeh.
NAD is one of the top photography resorts in the world. With incredible guides who understand photography, a large camera room, and a maximum of 2 guests per dive guide, NAD is truly a photographers resort. The food and friendly service from the restaurant are second to none. A great mix of western and local dishes are served daily with every special request attended to. For our group we typically enjoy two group BBQs at the beginning and end of the week. The rooms are clean and well maintained and come in two categories, pool side or bungalow.
There are two levels of accommodation available, Poolside and Bungalow. Pricing as below based on twin or double occupancy, single supplement is also available. All pricing includes 7 nights/17 dives, airport transfers, all meals, nitrox. Additional nights before or after the workshop are available.
Poolside Double/Twin Occupancy – USD $1994 per person
Poolside Single – USD $2309 per person
Bungalow Double/Twin Occupancy – USD $2388 per person
Bungalow Single – USD $2703 per person
Quite often our guests express interest in staying longer or arriving early in Lembeh. This year we will host an additional Photo Fun Week at the resort starting from 18 July. During this portion the instructors will not be doing presentations, however, they will be open for questions. They will dive with cameras so this is a great opportunity to watch the pros in action. If you would like to join us for an extra few days of diving and fun please let us know! We have packages available from the 7 night workshop up to a 12 night/32 dive package.
For more info have a look at the Trip Reports for our 2018 and 2019 Photo Workshops.
Silk Air no longer runs the Singapore to Manado route. Another partner airline of Singapore Airlines, Scoot, now runs the Singapore to Manado route, however, the 2022 schedule is yet to be released. If you would prefer to purchase your tickets soon, the best itinerary would be via Jakarta. Jakarta offers flights with Garuda, CitiLink and Batik Air direct to Manado. There are no direct flights from Bali (Denpasar) to Manado.
