We are happy to announce a new trip to Raja Ampat March 2020. Once again we have booked the Mermaid II liveaboard for our third journey to this incredible area of the world. With 8 nights on board this twin engine, steel hulled vessel we will be able to visit all of the best sites in Raja. As we know the Raja Ampat area extremely well, we will be working closely with the Mermaid Cruise Director in order to choose the best dive sites at the best possible time each day. Weather depending, we plan on spending 4 to 5 days diving the colourful reefs of the Misool area. We will then travel toward the middle of Raja Ampat to visit areas such as Penemu and Kawe before ending in the Dampier Strait.
Our journey will take us to all of the best sights in the Raja Ampat region. The itinerary will offer us the chance to dive with never ending fields of soft corals, schooling fish, the mysterious wobbegong shark, mantas, and so much more! The Raja Ampat area is perhaps the most complete diving destination in all of Indonesia. This region boasts a higher count of fish species than anywhere on the planet. This is the ultimate liveaboard destination as we will be able to visit both the North and South regions of this large area.
Diving areas that we will target for this trip include the Fiabacet and Daram areas of Misool, Kawe, Penemu, and the Dampier Strait area. Of course this is just a plan, local weather conditions and visibility can affect our choices.

Once you choose your city of entry to Indonesia, we can help you book your domestic flights
The most common cities of arrival for Indonesia include Jakarta, Manado, and Bali.
Embark & Disembark: Sorong – West Papua
There are several possibilities to get to Sorong from Bali, Jakarta, Makassar or Manado
Traveling from Jakarta offers the advantage of traveling to Sorong overnight. From Bali there is a stop over in Makassar at the airport hotel before flying to Sorong the next morning. From Manado there are direct flights to Sorong.
We suggest that everyone arrives in Sorong on the 17th in order to allow for any issues such as missing luggage etc.
