We are happy to announce two Raja Ampat liveaboard trips for 2026. We are excited to join with the wonderful Samambaia liveaboard in February and March 2026 for a pair of back to back trips. The dates for Trip One are 16 – 27 February 2026 and Trip Two are 2 – 13 March 2026. Both trips start and end in Sorong which means we can spend the maximum amount of time diving the waters of Raja Ampat. Raja is one of our favourite destinations in the world and there is no better host than the Samambaia. These trips are only open to 14 divers and space are already limited, if you would like to join us please Contact Us today.
The Samambaia is fitted with all the features of a modern dive liveaboard. With a powerful marine engine, which can reach up to 10 knots cruising speed, it’s the best way to explore the Banda Sea. During the design process the focus was on the details which make it such a great boat. Functionality is paired with aesthetics and quality materials. The layout of the ship was built around the needs of the guests. Comfort and service are of highest priority on board, while the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. The boat offers many areas for both social activity and private time. A large sundeck with a removable shade cover when the sun gets too hot.
The food on the boat is fantastic with a variety of western and Indonesian dishes. Fresh coffee is always available from a top notch espresso machine. Soft drinks and water are available in the salon 24 hours per day. Beer is available in the price, wine and cocktails are available but not included.
For those who never get enough time in this area, we are pleased to announce back to back trips. Both of the trips are Raja Ampat only and will leave and return to the port of Sorong. Sorong is a direct flight from Jakarta, Manado, or Makassar and is therefore easy to turn your trip into a combination trip to another destination. As on any Underwater Tribe trip, one of the Tribe will be on the boat as part of the experience. As we know the area well, we will be working with the Samambaia crew to choose the best sites at the best time of day. We will also be offering tips on underwater photography and video for those who are interested in improving their photography.
Raja Ampat is one of the world’s top diving destinations. The diving is truly world class. This marine protected area is home to one of the most diverse eco-systems on the planet. With three distinct areas to discover, the diving here is a varied experience. The Misool region in the south has an amazing variety of colourful soft corals, big schools of fish, and a large population of manta rays. The Dampier Strait boasts many of the famous dive sites in the area such as Cape Kri and Blue Magic. The northern area consists of beautiful areas like Eagle Rock and Kawe.
As conditions can change, we will plan each day accordingly. February and March are one of the best times of year to visit Raja Ampat. The list of encounters we have had during this time of year is off the charts. Pelagic and reef manta rays, big schools of jacks, never ending pygmy seahorses, rivers of fusiliers, and brightly coloured schools of sweetlips. This area truly is one of the gems of diving in the Indo Pacific region. There is always something to satiate every diver from critter lovers to underwater photographers.
If you would like to join us on one of these amazing trips please send us an email today. On your email let us know what class of cabin you are after as well as which trip you would like to join 16-27 February or 2-13 March.
