Online Learning of Underwater Photography

Online Learning Underwater Photography

Manta Point

We are happy to announce a new phase in our underwater photography and video curriculum. In these confusing times the Corona virus is making foreign travel difficult and many people are quarantined around the world. Obviously the health risk is great to many people and the risk is not to be taken lightly. With many people staying home in order to create social distance and lower the rate of spread, there will be a lot of time spent in front of the computer. This is a great time to learn a new skill or improve skills you have started. We believe that underwater photography is one of the skills that can be improved with online learning. With that in mind, we are now offering private online sessions for anyone to improve their skills. This is a great way to learn new tips and tricks from the comfort of home.

We will also be doing a lot of new videos on our YouTube and Facebook channels so please subscribe to those if you aren’t already.

What Will I Learn?

We are offering 30 minute and 60 minute time slots for any number of topics. We believe one of the most useful online topics to be photo critiquing. To do so, we ask that you email us 5 photographs that you would like to improve. These could be photos from a variety of situations, but we ask for photos that offer a learning experience. The best photos to choose are ones which have issues you are trying to figure out or ones in which you tried something new and it didn’t work. We are not asking for your best photos, as these don’t offer as much of a learning curve compared to photos you are not happy with. We ask that you send these photos ahead of time so that we can study them before our scheduled online discussion.

What Topics Can We Discuss?

Of course we also offer discussions not based on photo critique. If you would like to discuss strobe positioning, exposure control, or composition we can tailor to your needs. We request via email a brief explanation of your equipment setup and experience and what you are trying to improve. Then, we can discuss appropriately once we are online together.

How Do We Chat?

We offer discussion via both WhatsApp and Skype calls. We will discuss the best time slot over email that works for both parties. Bali is on UTC +8 time zone, the same as Singapore. Our office hours for online discussion are 09:00 to 18:00, however, for special circumstances we may be able to extend these times.

What is the Cost of Online Learning?

We are offering direct “one to one” discussions for either 30 or 60 minute time slots. For 30 minutes the cost is $25 USD and for a 60 minute slot the price is $45. Feel free to Contact Us and we will get back to you as soon as possible to make your appointment.
