Lizard fish are commonly found on the reef and in sandy areas waiting to pounce on prey. These ambush predators may reach up to 30 centimetres in length and boast a mouth full of sharp teeth. Their ability to remain motionless allows them to blend into their surroundings before leaping upon unsuspecting fish. This photograph used a medium f-stop in order to blur the background fish enough yet not make it unrecognizable.
