We are happy to announce our 14th Annual Lembeh Strait Photo Week 2027!  Our 2026 event was a fantastic success and we can’t wait to do it again. You can read more about it at the Lembeh 2026 Trip Report. Our exciting 2027 Photo Week will take place from 23 – 31 July 2027, starting with an 8 night/20 dive package. Our hosts for the event is the wonderful NAD Lembeh with their amazing team.  The package includes all meals, nitrox (air available), return airport car transfers (surcharge for non peak hours or destinations other than the airport), 2:1 guest to guide ratio, in water tuition, and digital copies of outlines.

We limit the number of participants during the week in order to give plenty of one to one time to everyone. One of the highlights of our Photo Weeks is that the one to one time with the team. We accompany the photographers underwater with a slate in hand, not a camera. One to one time underwater is often touted as the highlight of their experience by past participants.

Who Should Attend?

One of the most common comments we receive is: “I am not advanced enough in my skills to attend a workshop.” However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Our NAD Lembeh Photo weeks are specifically aimed at new underwater photographers along with including other techniques for the more experienced. We always start with the basics to get everyone on the same page before introducing other techniques. Our workshops are relaxed and friendly with a very social atmosphere. We don’t include competitions so there is no pressure on our guests. Everyone loves the “one to one” evening sessions as this allows everyone to dig into the photos of the day and perfect their Lightroom skills. Lightroom and post processing is one of the most important parts of the week with multiple presentations and one to one help.

 

The Schedule

Although minor tweaks may occur the schedule for the Lembeh Strait Photo Week 2027 will be as follows:

23 July – final arrivals and introductory welcome and slideshow. No presentations on this day

24 – 29 July – 2 morning dives, presentation after lunch, afternoon dive, 5-7pm presentations and office hours (options for night dives)

30 July – 2 morning dives, no afternoon dive included on this day unless individually booked, BBQ and final slideshow

31 July – Departure Day

Our photo weeks are for everyone! Each year we have a mix of brand new photographers and people who have been shooting for years. We are able to customize the learning experience for everyone. We work individually with each participant underwater in order to master new skills. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the week is full of laughter and new friends. We have many repeat guests who return year after year to join us in Lembeh.

The Resort

NAD is one of the top underwater photography resorts in the world. With incredible guides who understand photography, a large camera room, and a maximum of 2 guests per dive guide, NAD is a photographers dream. The food and friendly service from the restaurant are second to none. A great mix of western and local dishes are served daily, with every special request attended to. If you have certain dietary needs do let us know before arrival to the staff can prepare. The rooms are clean and well maintained and come in two categories, pool side or bungalow. The bungalows are larger and located behind the beach front rooms in a more private setting. Both categories are available and pricing is detailed below. There are 10 beachfront/pool side rooms and 5 larger seaview bungalows for those looking for a more spacious and private setting.

Lembeh Strait Photo Week 2027

There are two levels of accommodation available at NAD: Beachfront Room (10 available) and Seaview Bungalow (5 available). The Bungalows are priced higher and offer a larger room along with a few more amenities. The Bungalow photos are on the upper row above and the Poolside Rooms are on the lower row. Pricing is based on twin/double occupancy and a single supplement is also available, please ask for more details.  The workshop itself is 8 nights/20 dives and includes airport car transfers (within peak times), all meals, nitrox.  Additional nights before or after the workshop are normally a part of the package,  please let us know exactly how many days you would like to join and we can create a custom itinerary for you along with pricing. Many repeat guests often choose 14 night or longer packages.

Pre and Post Week Add Ons

As per years past, we will be at NAD in advance of the Photo Week for a warm up. We will also stick around for a few days afterwards for more diving and photography. We will be on location starting from the 19th of July to set up and get settled in. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get into form before the Photo Week starts. We think its a great idea to arrive early in order to get over any potential jetlag, test equipment, and get your buoyancy in order.

Many people enjoy staying a few days after the Photo Week to relax and enjoy more great diving. This is a prime opportunity to relax and work on your photo skills with your new friends. This year we will stay at NAD a few days after the workshop is over.
