March 10th, 2026 • uwt

We are excited to announce our next liveaboard group trip! In September 2027 we will be returning to the world famous Komodo National Park aboard the wonderful Samambaia liveaboard. As an added treat to this Komodo itinerary we will also visit Saleh Bay, home to a resident population of whale sharks. That’s right, on this trip you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with whale sharks, manta rays, komodo dragons and a whole lot more! The trip starts 6 September and ends 17 September starting and ending in Labuan Bajo.

What Areas Will We Visit?

The trip will visit all of the top sites of the Park including Manta Alley, Horseshoe Bay, Batu Bolong, Castle Rock and more. As an added bonus we will visit Banta, Bima Bay, Sangeang and the whale sharks of Saleh Bay. Of course all of this is weather dependent but September is a great time of year to visit Komodo. This trip will begin and end in the town of Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park. There are now direct international flights from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore a few times a week which makes it even easier to reach. You can see the full itinerary on the Samambaia site.

Komodo Liveaboard 2027 – What will we encounter?

For nature lovers and photographers this truly is a trip of a lifetime. Not only will we encounter charismatic mega fauna, we will also dive in top notch critter destinations such as Sangeang and Bima Bay. These sites are home to black sand diving with some of the best critter encounters in Indonesia. Of course we will also have the chance to hike in the national park to see the dragons. As an added bonus there are a few sunset walks to enjoy as well.
