Underwater Tribe Diving and Adventure Podcast #008

Bali Sunfish: Marianne and Jenny

Bali Sunfish Podcast

This week on the Underwater Tribe podcast we are happy to host Marianne Nyegaard and Jenny Karmy of Bali Sunfish.  Marianne is a PhD candidate who is researching sunfish for her thesis at Murdoch University in Australia.  Jenny is a PADI scuba diving instructor who is heading the citizen science portion of the research into sunfish identification.  Mike sits with Marianne and Jenny to discuss the entire sunfish program from research methods to interaction best practices.  The process of tagging sunfish is just one of the many topics that we discuss.  For underwater photographers, Jenny gives a great description of the best way to photograph sunfish for ID purposes.  Sit back, relax, and learn a whole lot of information about this largest bony fish in the ocean!

If you have sunfish photos from anywhere in the world please feel free to add them to Match My Mola.  The database that Jenny and Marianne are building aids in establishing species distribution and identification.
