Bali Photo Workshop July 2018

Bali Photo WorkshopOnce again we are offering a Bali Photo Workshop that will take place immediately before our Lembeh Photo Workshop in July 2018.  We will start with an arrival date of 21 July and finish diving on the 26th with 5 days of diving.  For interested parties, we can extend the trip before the workshop for folks who would like to dive at Nusa Penida to possibly encounter Molas or Manta Rays.

We will be basing ourselves in the Tulamben area at the Mimpi Tulamben Resort and enjoying 14 dives in the Tulamben, Seraya, and Amed areas working on both macro and wide angle techniques.  We will do 3 dives per day on the 22nd to the 25th and 2 dives on the 26th before heading back to Sanur for a final night presentation and farewell dinner.  The Bali Photo Workshop  is a great way to get a few days of diving in before joining us in Lembeh.  For those flying to Lembeh we will be flying in the evening of the 27th.  Want to join the Lembeh Photo Workshop as well?  More information can be found here: Lembeh Photo Workshop 2018

Bali Photo Workshop NudiWhat Kind of Diving Will We Be Doing?

The diving in the Tulamben area is mostly shore diving, we certainly suggest bringing open heel fins with booties.  We will be doing a mix of black sand diving for macro as well as a few coral reefs as well as the Liberty shipwreck.  We don’t have any night dives scheduled as part of the workshop, however, we can certainly organize those on the day for anyone who is interested.  We will be doing 3 day dives each day with the photo instructors talking about photo techniques on location for each site.  In the evenings we will meet for photo critiquing, one to one discussion, and short presentations.

Do I Need to Be an Experienced Photographer to Join?

Bali Photo WorkshopCertainly not, we welcome photographers of all levels and we always start our workshops with a discussion of the basics.  Experienced photographers will also learn some tips and tricks of the trade and benefit from being able to discuss issues or goals with our on site photo professionals.  The Bali portion of our 2018 workshop is not as in depth of a workshop as the Lembeh portion, for folks wanting to learn as much as possible, we recommend joing both Bali and Lembeh.

The photo instructors will be in the water with the participants throughout the week with slates in hand.  Unlike many other photo workshops, our instructors do not take their cameras underwater, the dives are about improving the skills of the participants.

We require that all participants carry valid and up to date diving insurance as well as medical insurance.  We strongly recommend Travel Insurance in case of last minute unseen circumstances.
