Diving Ambon, Maluku Photo Workshop 2015
We are proud to announce a new location for our 2015 group trip adventures, the wonderful Maluku Divers Resort in Ambon, Indonesia!
Drawing on the success of our Lembeh and Bunaken photo workshops this past May, we are continuing our series of “Underwater Photography Workshops with the Underwater Tribe” in March of 2015. Join us 18-25 March 2015 at Maluku Divers Resort, located at the heart of Ambon, just minutes away from the top critter dives in eastern Indonesia. Long known as the home of the famous “Psychedelic Frogfish”, Ambon is one of the top areas in Indonesia for serious photographers.
18-25 March at Maluku Divers Resort, Ambon
As with any Underwater Tribe Photo Workshop, we will have professional photography instructors on location who will join the students in the water with slates in hand in order to give “one to one” instruction underwater. Our package consists of 7 nights and 18 dives during the best time of year for diving the area. A typical day will consist of two morning dives followed by lunch, an afternoon talk, a third dive in the afternoon, and then our “open table” critiquing sessions where the instructors will make themselves available for one to one critiquing as well as answer any questions that participants may have. After dinner, the instructors will continue with another presentation and discuss plans for the following days’ schedule. Evening mandarinfish dives or night dives are also available for those who are interested but this needs to be discussed with the on-site resort managers as we won’t preplan any night dives.
As we are diving in one of the best muck and macro destinations on the planet, we will be concentrating more on macro photography techniques during this portion of the workshop but basic lighting techniques will also be discussed.
Stunning Macro Photography Opportunities
Although macro and critter photography are the highlights of diving in Ambon, there are also wide-angle photography opportunities available and we will be discussing several wide-angle photography techniques during the week, but the main focus will be on critter photography. Topics that will be discussed include: “The Basics of Lighting”, “Pursuing Portraits”, “Close Focus Wide Angle”, “Black and Blue Macro Backgrounds”, “Composition” as well as the effective use of Lightroom as well as other subjects as time provides. Students will all receive PDF copies of all of the presentations to take home.
Our philosophy for Photo Workshops is that keeping the groups small works best, this allows everyone to enjoy the optimal amount of time with the instructors both underwater and on land, therefore, we will have a maximum of 12 participants for this workshop along with two instructors. The price for the “Underwater Tribe/Maluku Divers Photo Workshop 2015” is USD $1900 based on twin occupancy in a bungalow and includes airport transfers, 18 dives, and 7 nights with all meals, drinking water, and snacks on the boat. We strongly recommend that participants arrive on the Garuda or Lion Air flights that land in Ambon at approximately 7am on the 18th of March via Jakarta in order to settle in and start diving.
Please send us an email at email@example.com for further information about this workshop, we are positive it will be a great success! 7 nights/18 dives USD $1900
We are expecting this trip to fill up very quickly after the success of last years offering, therefore, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
