Manta Alley Manta Rays in Komodo – Photo of the Day

Manta Alley Manta Rays Komodo

Our photo of the day today comes from one of the most amazing dive sites in the world, Manta Alley in the Komodo National Park.  Manta Alley is home to a large population of manta rays that regularly come to the area for cleaning, feeding, and even mating activity.  Although it’s only a small set of islands, this site has a whole series of different areas where divers can encounter manta rays.  This photo shows 3 mantas which were found in very shallow water on the western side of the site, slowly circling around the area.

Shot with a Nikon D7200 in a Nauticam Housing, 10-17mm lens, Sea and Sea Strobes, FIX Lights, f8, 1/80th, ISO 640
