The Mysterious Mimic Octopus

PJs Mimic Octopus

Everyone loves encountering a mimic octopus.  These long armed octopi are commonly found in shallow, sandy areas peeking out of their home at their surroundings.  With slow and careful movements, it’s possible to get close to these charismatic critters without scaring them back into their hole.  This photo was taken at PJs (Puri Jati) in north Bali, not far from the resort town of Lovina.
