Photo of the Day – Harlequin Shrimp Pair

A pair of harlequin shrimp

We visited a dive site a few days ago that we don’t visit very often, specifically to search for Harlequin Shrimp.  Were we successful?  We sure were!  We found 10 different individuals, all in very shallow water.  The best part about this dive was that we had the entire site to ourselves!  One of the great things about diving in Bali is the chance to drop in almost anywhere and find some cool critters.  This particular site is in the Amed area and we dive it during our Bali Safari trips.  Although not easy to shoot in the shallow water, Harlequin Shrimp are always a rewarding subject with their beautiful colouration.  This pair was found in only 3 metres (10 feet) of water!
