Black Water Night Dive

Today’s Photo of the Day is a shot from yesterdays black water night dive.  For those who don’t know what a black water night dive is, it’s simply doing a dive in the water column with strong lights, as opposed to diving on the reef.  Doing black water night dives is not for the faint of heart, there is not bottom close by to orient yourself which can result in a lot of depth changes.  However, the rewards of doing these dives are many as it often results in encounters with weird and wonderful critters that are not often found on the reef.  For today’s Photo of the Day we have strange little octopus that appeared hunting the small shrimp and other planktonic critters drawn to our lights.  If you are interested in these types of dives, let us know and we can plan one for you during a Bali Safari Trip.
